Two New Paintings Added

Gerald Carpenter releases two new painting today. The renaissance inspired "Shouldst Earlier Been Born" will be on display in the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society Annual Member show. The show is open to the public: October 16 - November 13, 2010 at the Rose Shenson Community Art Gallery/Triton Museum of Art, 1505 Warburton Ave, Santa Clara , CA 95050.

The second painting inspired by a recent trip to Alaska entitled Creek Street is now available. The painting captures the incredible colors of the old town Juneau area against the normal gray or clouded sky.

New Paintings Available

I have added several new paintings to my collection. One is inspired by photo references taken at Filoli Estate and Gardens located in Woodside, CA. Take a look at the Filoli Tea House. Also new to the collection is the Grist Mill painting. I had great fun exploding colors, shapes and textures in this piece. Please take a look at all the fun art in my gallery.

New Period Renaissance Painting Added

Greetings all. I have just added a new Renaissance peroid watercolor painting to my collection. I used references from a local faire and recreated the backgound after studying various period paintings. The image is perfect for holiday cards or Renaissance events. I have another image of a full concert for the queen coming in the near future. I hope you enjoy it.

Winner Of The Watercolor Still Life Contest

A hosted contest of watercolor still life with a Story was recently held and the following artist placed in the top three. First Place went to Damasco Carrillo receiving 36 votes. A link from my Facebook page has been added. Second Place went to Denny Bond for his painting "Gaurdians Of Time" receiving 28 votes. This is a great painting of watch faces that must have been a labour of love to paint. Third Place went to myself, Gerald Carpenter for "Memories in Reflection II" receiving14 votes and contains items from various stages of my life. Please check out these artist at FineArtAmerica.com. Winner Of The Watercolor Vintage Car Content

A hosted contest of watercolor vintage cars of the 1920's was recently held and the following artist placed in the top three.

First Place went to DENNY BOND for his painting "Men and Their Toys". A link from my Facebook page has been added for him. Please check out his excellent work. He had great control of watercolor accomplishing a good level of detail and communicating feeling and emotion.

Second Place went to Conrad Mieschke for his painting "Chevy Pickup". This is a great painting communicating a lonely cold existance for a great vintage vehicle.

Third Place went to Lois Hogg for "Those Were the Days" an incredible painting flowing with emotion and exhibiting a great composition and use of color to communicate age.

New Watercolor Paintings Added

New Watercolor Paintings Added

Several new paintings added to my galleries: Spangled and San Jose Vintage Car Show to name a few. A few others like Snow in Tahoe and a self portrait are older paints that have recently be digitally rendered.

I will be participating a the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Annual Member show starting on Oct 17 through Nov 15. It will be help at the Rose Shensen Community Gallery of the Trition Museum.

I have two new paintings in process now: a wagon scene from a reference taken in Mendocino, CA and a Fall still life.
