Taken when COVID-19 began, the station was devoid of people and trains. The lack of detail in some areas is intentional to present the emptiness. The painting took over a year to complete during the raging virus.

Gerald Carpenter

Jerry Carpenter, born in Fairmont, West Virginia, educated at Berea College in Kentucky and Catholic University of America, moved from Washington, DC, to California in 2000. Working as an Information Technology professional is a stressful job; thus, in an effort to find peace I began painting watercolors under the tutelage of Ms. Bobbie Dixon as part of the Santa Clara Adult Education Program after moving to California. Since then, I have studied with other prominent artists. I began drawing and painting as a child, especially architecture. The medium of choice was Acrylics during his high school and college years.
